  • Branding Guidelines Book

CHALLENGE

Seattle Dodgeball is a local, grassroots organization that was in need a dynamic new brand. Their old branding was flat and unremarkable, failing to capture the spirit and intensity of the game. The organization also needed merchandise to help promote and fund the game.

SOLUTION

I gave Seattle Dodgeball a recognizable face, done in the bright, playful style of a professional sports logo. It has an intensity and movement to match the vitality of the sport. This face brands both the letterhead and business cards, as well as t-shirts, hats, and dodgeballs. A brand guideline book was also created to keep the brand consistent. In addition to proper colors and typeface, it includes the do's and don'ts of presenting the brand.

THIS IS SEATTLE DODGEBALL

This grassroots organization sprang to life on the tennis courts of Cal Anderson Park. The sport needed a colorful and intense face to match it’s in-your-face spirit. I designed a simple, bright logo that’s instantly recognizable.

RESEARCH

I began by creating a pinterest board of dynamic sports logos with circles incorporated. I noticed the simple, heavy lines – designed to be read from far away. The few colors were saturated and bright.

SKETCHES

I began to sketch possible logos during my free time at work. My boring original ideas became more exciting after consulting Mad Balls for inspiration. Beneath is the boring original logo.

DODGEBALL MERCH

Merchandise is important to a grassroots organization with no real funding. These t-shirts and dodgeballs are designed to be fun and lucrative.
